BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ – The Heights Heat 8U softball team swept a three-game playoff series to win the Fall 2018 Colonial Championship against the Warren Wolverines. Two of the games ended in dramatic walk-off fashion with big hits by a pair of the team’s third-grade sluggers.
Heights Heat veterans Alexandra Duryee, Ava Garcia, Allison Nelson, Alyson Sayre, Annie Young and Lucia Xhelo stepped on the field in September ready to defend their 8U Parkway League championship over the summer. Heights Heat regulars, Analise Javier and Hallie Stein, and a very strong Heat rookie class featuring Emilyn Anderson, Mia Bussin, Ellis Duff, Carly Figlar and Emma Mulroy, joined them for the fall season hosted by Long Hill.
